My Care Inspectorate Grading is:
Below is our routine each day. Times and activities will vary depending on the time of year, children attending and the needs of the setting.
Arrivals. Breakfasts. TV and free play.
Nursery and school drop offs.
Circle time. Children choosing snacks and activities for the day.
Outing. May consist of local Soft Play, Toddler Group or Country Park
and local amenities.
Nursery pick ups and drop offs.
Lunch will be anywhere between 12.00 and 1.00 depending on nursery
Arts and Crafts (whatever topic we are following) or Baking.
School and nursery pick ups.
Free play. Indoor and outdoor, weather permitting. TV and video games.
It is not uncommon for us to change the morning outing to an afternoon and likewise with the Arts and Craft time. The advantage of a childminding setting is that we are able to be spontaneous according to the mood of the children and the weather.
On school and nursery holidays we have much more free time to get out and about without the restrictions of pick up/drop off times. The children enjoy visits to the cinema, our local theatre, library and museum. We are a family that loves the outdoors and I understand the importance of fresh air and physical activity in the development of young children. Knowing this, we visit places like the beach, Fairy Trail and Country Parks in the surrounding areas.
