My Care Inspectorate Grading is:
We live in a 4 bedroom detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac close to Dean Castle Country Park and Kay Park. We are also within easy reach of local primary schools and nurseries.
I make full use of the lower floor of my home for childminding purposes. I have a large entrance hallway that provides ample space for sleeping babies in buggies. There is a welcome Board displaying important information for parents to view such as our Daily Planner outlining our activities, snacks and meals for that day. I have a downstairs toilet with toddler seat and potty if needed.
My lounge is spacious, clean, warm and homely. I provide a varied selection of age appropriate toys for the children to play with that are updated monthly at the local Childminders Toy Library. The Library provides a vast choice of material for all stages of development that I make full use of.
The lounge leads onto the Dining Room where we eat our snacks and meals. Booster seats are provided for younger children. Here the children have their ‘Who’s Here Today’ ‘Snack Time Choice’ and ‘Activity Choice’ planners. Their opinions are valued and they all have input into what we do and eat each day. We also have Arts and Crafts time here and Baking will either be here or in the kitchen.
The back garden is large and fully enclosed by 6ft fencing and a padlocked gate. I have various outdoor toys and a trampoline that the children can use once a permission slip is signed by the parent. This is supervised at all times when in use.
There is also another lounge area at the back of the house that was added in 2012. This provides extra space for sleeping, the play dough table, car mat, garage and vehicles and floor puzzles etc. This room also has a PS4 and Xbox with age appropriate games.
